Summer Art Reach Program
The Oklahoma City University Summer “Art Reach” Program will provide an opportunity for High School students to participate in a summer art program on the OCU campus. This FREE program focuses on the principles and elements of art and design. These will be explored in various creative projects taught by University Faculty and Staff.
The Art Reach program provides all materials necessary for the program course, including daily lunch. These Art Reach classes are fun, educational, and rewarding; allowing students to realize creative potentials.
Summer Art Reach will begin on June 8th 2009 and end on June 18th, 2009. The classes will consist of a morning class and an afternoon class. The morning class will begin at 9:00am and end at 12:00pm with a break for lunch and resume at 1:00pm and end at 4:00pm. Lunch will be served at 12:00pm to that all the Art Reach students can meet, relax and converse over the summer projects and ideas.
The classes will begin with a brief history of the Pop Art movement and discuss motifs and aesthetics of the movement. From there students will delve into the exploration of modern photography and creative Photoshop applications. Students will also learn the process of silk-screening and produce many different representations of the method.

Collaboration
Fine Arts Institute
Pursuant to the goal of integrating the arts across the university curriculum, the Fine Arts Institute
of Oklahoma City University supports an arts-driven creative and intellectual process that encourages
collaboration and outreach between the University and the broader community.
Priddy Initiative
The Priddy Scholarship is part of the Priddy Grant awarded to Oklahoma City University from the Robert and Ruby Priddy Charitable Trust. The purpose of this grant is to fund the integration of the fine arts across the undergraduate curriculum. The scholarship component is intended to increase the presence of under-represented populations in the arts; to provide support for need-based, non-fine arts majors who contribute to the collegiate atmosphere on the OCU campus, including engagement with other Priddy initiatives, and who provide arts-related services to the community, to public schools, and other organizations.
