International Student Life

The overarching theme of Multicultural Student Affairs is “Access and Opportunity.”  It is this statement which drives us to identify and work towards addressing the needs of underserved populations.  International student life consists of coordinating the new student orientation session for international students each fall and a welcome session for those students arriving during summer I and summer II sessions. In addition multicultural student affairs collaborates with multicultural student association to facilitate substantial campus\ community wide programs such as FACES, International Food Fair, Mr. & Miss International OCU pageant, International Day at the Capital and TESOL conversations hour.  The “Mind The Gap” program is a way of looking at international student engagement that bring synergy to the campus connection provided for this demographic. The seamless and transparent approach to delivery of services binds both curricular and co-curricular programming which insures the needs of our international student population are being met at every level. Each student served by this initiative will have a much clearer understanding of services available to them and how these services create profound opportunities for cross-cultural learning.
