Mission Statement

The mission of OCU's Sociology and Justice Studies Department is to prepare future leaders to creatively examine the diverse factors that lead to conflict and violence in society. Our curriculum is designed to promote proficiency in written and verbal communications, provide rigorous training and encourage critical reflection. Through these skills, students will learn how to create sustainable organizations, policies, and dialogues that transform social relationships and shape a more just society.

If you want a college experience characterized by seminar-type classes, one-on-one faculty interaction and courses covering issues the world is facing today, then the OCU Sociology and Justice Department is the place for you for an exciting, challenging education.
