Dr. Susan Barnes is Chair of Transformative and Global Education and Associate Professor at Oklahoma City University's Kramer School of Nursing. Her PhD and Master of Science in Nursing were earned from the University of Texas Health Science Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, she is an alumnus of Northern Oklahoma College. She has served on the faculty of several institutions and held various administrative positions. Dr. Barnes has held research positions as well, including Nurse Research Fellow at the Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Hospital. Her clinical experience and interests include health promotion and gerontology. She has published several research studies and textbook chapters, and has presented extensively at state, national, and international levels.
