Rachelle Selensky, MSN, RN, began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse while attending Oklahoma City Community College, where she received her Associate Degree of Applied Nursing Science in 2001. During her undergraduate studies she earned the Oklahoma City University Nursing Scholarship Award. She has worked at Integris Health since 1999 with over ten years experience in coronary care, telemetry, coronary catheterization lab, and critical care experience. In 2005, she won the Nurse of the Year Award for Coronary Catheterization Lab at Integris Southwest Medical Center. She has also won the Integris Team Excellence Award in 2008 and 2009 for specialized projects to deliver more efficient quality care to the community she serves. She is certified to perform advance procedure of placing Peripheral Insertion of Central Catheters (PICC), as well as initiating and managing the care of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP). During her seven years in the coronary catheterization lab experience she was certified to operate the Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) during specialized coronary procedures. She was the research coordinator for the Sanofi-Aventis, STRADIVARIUS Randomized Controlled Trial, with the largest enrollment in the United States She continues to keep her Experienced Provider Advanced Life Support (EP-ACLS) current and works as relief staff for the Intensive Care Unit at Integris-Health. She received her BSN from Kramer School of Nursing at Oklahoma City University in 2009, as well as her Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Nursing Education in 2010. She has been a preceptor in the clinical setting since 2002, and began teaching as an adjunct clinical instructor for Kramer School of Nursing in January 2010. During her graduate studies, Prof. Selensky was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International. She is married with two daughters, and enjoys spending her free time with her family. She is enthusiastic about the nursing profession and preparing new graduates to become successful nurses.
