Professor Knight received an ADN in 1990 from Oklahoma State University/Oklahoma City, a BSN from University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in 2006, and MSN from OUHSC in 2008. She has 20 years of nursing experience in Intensive Care, Emergency Care, and Radiology Nursing at Integris Baptist Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, and Mercy Health Center. The focus in each entity was to precept nursing students and newly graduated nurses, giving them individualized attention and pearls of knowledge to assist in their career as a nurse. She was a member of the “Heart” committee at Integris Baptist for many years, planning social events and moral building events, and was a participant in many “shows” at Integris Baptist at Christmas and Employee appreciation days. She was a member of the Intensive Care Council at St. Anthony Hospital, assisted in developing care models, and increased involvement in AACN by the staff.
Teaching since 2006, Professor Knight has served at Redlands Community College, El Reno, as well as at OU College of Nursing for the Community Course and at Rose State before becoming an adjunct at Kramer School of Nursing in January of 2011. She became a full-time faculty member KSN in August of 2011. She is very interested in curriculum design and student involvement in learning, and has a passion for using technology as a tool in teaching students.
Professor Knight serves her community as a Parish Nurse at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City, as well as the Oklahoma District Representative for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, serving as a resource for Parish Nurses and Pastors in the Oklahoma District. She is also a member of the National LCMS Parish Nurse Council to be a resource to all Parish Nurses and the Synod office as needed. She has attended the annual Parish Nurse Conference in Mequon, Wisconsin, and has been a speaker many times on various subjects.
She is a Commission member for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, where she assists in the overseeing of that state agency.
Professor Knight also believes taking care of herself is very important. She enjoys her 2 cats, crochet projects, and reading. Areas of Research:
