TEDx Conference to Explore Resiliency
Oklahoma leaders will share stories of resiliency at Oklahoma City University’s TEDx conference Dec. 5.
YWCA of Oklahoma City CEO Janet Peery, attorney Susan Carns Curtiss and Tulsa businesswoman Christy VanCleave will discuss growth through circumstance, helping women get back on their feet and overcoming circumstances through education during the conference. Video TED talks from California also will be streaming. The event will be held from 12:15 to 4:30 p.m. at OCU’s Meinders School of Business, located at N.W. 27th St. and McKinley Ave.
The conference is organized by OCU graduate student Mollie Dysart.
“My desire is to unite and empower women in our state to share their ideas, stories and passions with one another through community,” she said.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to ideas worth spreading. It was formed in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from technology, entertainment and design; and has since broadened in scope.
Tickets for the event are $100 or $25 for students. For more information or to register, visit www.ted.com/tedx/events/9683 or call (405) 208-5590.
