Oklahoma City University Student Wins Miss Black Oklahoma
Darbi Williams was crowned Miss Black Oklahoma Sunday evening at Douglass High School.
Williams, who graduated from Oklahoma City University’s Kramer School of Nursing this year with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, competed against 11 contestants. She played the piano for her talent competition.
Williams thanked God for the opportunity to compete and serve and said that her most memorable experience during the pageant was the week of professional speakers leading to the pageant show. She said the opportunity substantiated her faith in the professional development offered through the pageant system and proved that they are not just “all glitz and glamour.”
Williams plans to compete in the Miss International Pageant in August in Atlanta. She is planning to attend OCU in the fall to pursue a master's degree.
Williams is the sixth OCU student to win the Miss Black Oklahoma title, tying Langston for having the most winners in the competition.
