OCU Does the Heavy Lifting
Oklahoma City University’s Kinesiology and Exercise Studies Department will host the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Oklahoma clinic March 3 in the Freede Wellness and Activity Center on N.W. 27th Street and Florida Avenue.
The day-long clinic is geared toward coaches, athletes and professionals and students in the strength and conditioning discipline.
OCU professor Jason Miller will give a presentation titled "Rate of Force Development, what is it and how do we train it?"
“Experts in sports science and strength and conditioning will share their experience and research regarding sports performance,” Miller said. “The clinic is perfect for athletes and coaches who have an interest in improving their sports performance.”
Professionals from across the country will make presentations on topics including Olympic lifts, the importance of stretching, functional testing and more. There will also be demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions.
Registration is $50 for NSCA members, $75 for non-members and $30 for students through Feb. 21. Lunch will be provided.
