OCU Hosts Open House for New Nursing School
Oklahoma City University’s Kramer School of Nursing will host an open house in its new facility from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The building is located at N.W. 27th Street and Blackwelder Avenue.
A $250 nursing scholarship will be offered to each visitor who is not a current Kramer nursing school student.
Nursing school faculty and staff will give tours of the 50,000 square-foot, three-story building, and demonstrations of its state-of-the-art patient simulators and video systems that allow students to view and analyze their work. The life-size mannequins can be programmed by faculty to display the signs and symptoms of a variety of diseases. They also respond to faculty-generated computer commands in real time.
The open house will also include presentations about current opportunities in nursing careers.
The Kramer School of Nursing now occupies two buildings on campus — KSN West and KSN East, the new building. The KSN East building project cost approximately $8.5 million, most of which was raised through grants and private donations. It celebrated its grand opening in April.
Whether you are a first-time college student interested in earning a bachelor's degree, a career-changer who would like to enter the field of nursing or an experienced nurse who would like to earn the next degree level, the Kramer School of Nursing offers opportunities to advance careers through flexible schedules. Part-time, full-time and accelerated coursework is available for most students.
Registration for the open house will begin in the KSN West building at N.W. 27th Street and Florida Avenue at 3 p.m. For more information, contact Chris Black, director of communications and outreach, at (405) 208-5832 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
