OCU Named One of Nation’s ‘Great Colleges to Work For’
Oklahoma City University is one of the best colleges to work for in the nation for the third consecutive year, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education’s “2010 Great Colleges to Work For” report released today. OCU also was listed on The Chronicle’s honor roll, which recognizes the institutions honored the most in their size categories.
Oklahoma City University earned honors in 11 workplace categories including collaborative governance, confidence in senior leadership, diversity, work/life balance, teaching environment and job satisfaction and support.
"The extraordinarily high level of morale and mutual respect among all of our faculty, staff and administration enhances our ability to provide the highest quality education for our students,” said OCU President Robert Henry. “We are pleased The Chronicle has recognized Oklahoma City University for being among the most desirable universities in the nation at which to work."
“The faculty and staff at Oklahoma City University are passionate about their work,” said OCU Associate Vice President of Administrative Services Liz Hedrick. “Every person at OCU has an impact on our campus environment, which is centered around student success, collaboration and innovation.”
Oklahoma City University participated in a two-part assessment process for this year’s program including a random employee survey and an institutional audit to collect demographics and workplace policies. Employee feedback collected from faculty and staff was the primary factor for deciding recognition.
