Oklahoma City University Student Works on the Tony Awards
OKLAHOMA CITY— Fans looking forward to Sunday’s broadcast of the Tony Awards have likely seen the creative work of Oklahoma City University entertainment business student Robert Postotnik.
Postotnik has been promoting the awards nationally since taking a summer internship with the Tony Awards and the Broadway Theatre League last month. His job duties include creating, developing and managing web and social media content for the organizations. He has also created several videos about the awards, which can be found on YouTube.
“This opportunity has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and has really provided me a wonderful platform to start my career in the entertainment business,” Postotnik said. “From the first day of my internship, I hit the ground running.”
One of Postotnik’s favorite projects is the “Flat Tony Fridays” social network campaign he created. Modeled after Flat Stanley, each week Facebook fans of the Tony Awards are encouraged to upload an image of themselves holding their own Tony. Several Broadway stars also have been photographed with Flat Tony including 2010 nominees Katie Finneran and Douglas Hodge.
Some of Postotnik’s videos can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccTQhtrMfPc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lznifNr5gYA&feature=related.
