OCU Harpist Selected for Musicfest's All-Star Orchestra
Gaye LeBlanc, principal harpist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and a faculty member at the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University, was selected for the 2010 and 2011 Arizona Musicfest’s All-Star Orchestra.
The week-long orchestra festival presented four separate concert programs of 23 orchestral works, and hours of rehearsals.
Members of the all-star orchestra were chosen from across the nation by Bob Moody, conductor and artistic director. Musicians represented the Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Seattle, and Met orchestras.
“This was an incredible experience,” LeBlanc said. “It was exhausting and exhilarating to play on such an extremely high level. It was an incredible honor to be invited -- and I was asked to return for the 2011 festival as well!”
