Festival-Bound Director/Composer Hosts Movie Premiere
The world premiere of “Peter and the Villain,” a film directed and scored by Vinnie Hogan ’08, will be hosted Nov. 14 in the Plaza Arts District at PhotoArt Studios, 1738 NW 16th Street.
Hogan’s 17-minute short will show at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. A meet-the-director reception will be held from 7-11 p.m.
Another film directed and scored by Hogan has been accepted into the 2009-10 Los Angeles Children’s Film Festival. ?? “The Bags” is a six-minute remake of the Hitchcock classic “The Birds.” The work will be screened Jan. 4 at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Theatre in Santa Monica. Hogan composed the music while earning his composition degree at the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University.
The score is performed by the OCU Wind Philharmomic under the direction of Dr. Matthew Mailman. ??The film stars OCU vocalist Courtney Longcrier and Bishop McGuinness student Alexander Knight.
