OCU Religion School to Host Scientific Lecture
OKLAHOMA CITY— Oklahoma City University will host a free public lecture Oct. 22 that explores the philosophical and theological significance of the scientific quest for gravitational radiation.
“Making Waves” will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel at OCU. The lecture is part of the Darrell W. Hughes Program for Religion and Science Dialogue.
Boston University Professor Kirk Wegter-McNelly will give the lecture. Wegter-McNelly teaches and writes about the reconstruction of theological ideas and methods in light of contemporary scientific perspectives. He currently is developing a theological assessment of quantum entanglement and pursing an interdisciplinary research project on gravitational waves with physicist Raymond Chiao.
