Oklahoma City University Entertainment Business Program Kicks Off Workshop Series
OKLAHOMA CITY— Oklahoma City University will launch its 2009-2010 Entertainment Business Workshop Series Sept. 19 with “Exploring Entertainment: Creating the Perfect Environment.” The workshop is open to high school juniors and seniors.
Featured experts are Alec Puskas and Charles Suggs who specialize in creating exceptional atmospheres for entertainment.
“Whether it’s for a fashion show, a holiday bash, a restaurant or a variety show, the environment sets the production up for reaching or exceeding audience expectations,” said Professor Rachel Jacquemain, director of OCU’s Entertainment Business Program. “This workshop will help the attendees learn how to make their events an experience to remember.”
Suggs is a non-profit consultant and facilitator and a strategic planner. He taught music theatre at Oklahoma City University for five years and has held a variety of positions at theater companies including producing director at The Kennebunkport Playhouse in Kennebunkport, Maine, equity actor and stage manager at The Instant Theatre Company in New York City and production coordinator, lighting designer and set designer at The Dallas Ballet.
Puskas, an Oklahoma City University alumnus, began his professional career in the entertainment industry in 1984. He has performed around the world with USO tours, theme parks, regional theaters and cruise lines. He created a design and entertainment firm, Visionart, which includes clients such as Whole Foods and Nordstrom.
