Alumni Win Grad School Admission, Scholarships
Alumni from the Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University are continuing their studies at graduate programs around the nation. Among the recent graduates beginning studies this fall:
-- John Michael Hunt (B.M. ’09 , music composition) has been accepted on full scholarship into the composition program at University of Texas at Austin.
-- Ewa Plonka (M.M. ’09), now represented by Performance Management International, has been accepted to the doctoral studies program in piano performance at University of Utah.
-- Logan Culwell (B.M. ’08, music theater) has been awarded a full-tuition assistantship to the Ithaca College School of Music master’s program in conducting for music theater and opera. Culwell also will be assistant music director for the college’s music theater productions and music director for its annual senior showcase in New York.
-- Jason Paige (B.M. ’09, instrumental performance) has been accepted to the master’s program in clarinet at Michigan State University.
-- Hannah Miller Leffler (B.M. ’09, instrumental performance) has been accepted into the master’s program in flute performance at University of Northern Iowa.
-- Evan Chancellor (M.M. ‘09, instrumental performance) was accepted into DMA programs for horn performance at the University of Oregon and Arizona State University, and chose to pursue his doctorate at the University of Oklahoma on a full teaching assistantship.
-- Jessica Salley (B.M. ’09, vocal performance) has been accepted into the graduate program in vocal studies at the University of Maryland.
-- Diane House (BM ’09, vocal performance) was accepted into the MMVP degrees at Longy School of Music, University of North Texas and Texas State at San Marcos. She has enrolled at Texas State, and will be studying with Professor Julie Wood.
