Dance School Professor Earns Professional Special Event Designation
An Oklahoma City University professor was awarded the state’s first Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP) designation by the International Special Events Society.
Rachel Jacquemain, a professor and director of Entertainment Business at OCU’s Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Arts Management, completed an interview and written examination process to achieve CSEP status. Candidates must have several years of special events industry experience and knowledge of all functions of special event management.
“It’s an honor to join the ranks of such an esteemed professional organization,” Jacquemain said. “This has been a goal for many years, and I’m proud to be part of a great organization and a great university.”
Jacquemain has worked in the performing arts for more than 35 years. She has been a producer, fashion buyer, show director, public speaker, performance coach, art consultant and has held other entertainment industry titles.
The International Special Events Society was founded in 1987. It consists of more than 7,200 professionals in more than 38 countries representing special event planners, producers and other related professional disciplines.
