Student Creativity on Display for OCU Spring Art Show
OKLAHOMA CITY — The annual Spring Student Exhibition for Oklahoma City University will begin with an opening reception from 2-5 p.m. April 5 in the Nona Jean Hulsey Gallery in Norick Art Center. The reception and exhibit is free to the public.
Burt Harbison, director of the Hulsey Gallery, said the student exhibit serves as the perfect conduit for students to show off their artistic abilities, even for those who aren’t art majors. The spring exhibit also serves as a step toward the capstone show, which is next on the schedule.
“The Spring show is an excellent exhibit showing the visual creativity of our students,” Harbison said. “OCU has a reputation for being a strong contributor to the creative culture in almost all forms, and this exhibit is more proof of the talent that is nurtured and produced here.”
The exhibit includes works in mediums of painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture.
The 2009 Spring Student Exhibition will be on display from April 5-16. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
The gallery is located at N.W. 26th Street and Blackwelder Avenue. For more information about the exhibit call Harbison at (405) 208-5230.
