Trumpet Professor Featured at 2008 ITG Conference
Michael Anderson, Oklahoma City University’s associate professor of trumpet and member of the board of directors of the International Trumpet Guild, was a featured presenter at the 2008 ITG’s annual conference, held this year at the Banff Centre, Alberta.
Also attending the June 1-5 Canadian event was OCU junior trumpet major Cotey Bowman, who was awarded a competitive scholarship from Conn-Selmer based on his taped audition.
Anderson, director of brass studies at OCU’s Bass School of Music, is editor of the ITG Journal’s Trumpet Technology column, executive director of the ITG web site, and a member of the ITG Journal’s editorial committee. His June 14 Banff presentation centered on new versions of an interactive, computer-based practice tool for musicians.
