Tomasz Zieba is an instructor of cello at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music. Born in Krakow, Poland, Zieba began his cello education at the age of seven at the Mieczyslaw Karlowicz School of Music under the directions of Mieczyslaw Chmiel and Andrzej Pall. After graduating, Zieba continued his cello studies at the Music Academy in Krakow under the instructions of Professor Henryk Zarzycki.

In United States, Zieba has completed a Bachelor of Music degree at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, and received an Artist Certificate Diploma and a Master of Music degree in cello performance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Zieba has studied cello with John Burton, Ko Iwasaki, Brinton Smith and Christopher Adkins.

In addition to his work at OCU, Zieba holds associate principal cello position with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and is co-principal cellist for Plano Symphony Orchestra. In the past, for many years, he served as principal cellist of the Irving Symphony Orchestra and has received several orchestral appointments, including New World Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra and Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a recitalist, chamber musician or ensemble member, Zieba has performed and taught master classes in Poland, Spain, Austria, Germany, France, Mexico and the United States. He is also a very dedicated chamber musician and performs regularly as a member of the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble in Oklahoma City.
