BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

These activities will begin once an Idea Submittal and Entrance Form along with a draft business plan is submitted, accepted and approved by the LEC staff. These services may be used in conjunction with, or separately, from the The Farrell Program.

Mentoring Program
Through a strategic partnership with the Executive Services Corps of Central Oklahoma (ESCCO), SCORE, the Board of Advisors for OCU, and the Helzberg Foundation, the LEC will assign a mentor to those individuals and businesses that appear to have a high probability for success. This mentor will guide the individual or business through the entire process of forming a new company or developing an existing one.

Business Documentation Development
The LEC staff, Mentors, OCU Faculty and Graduate Students will assist both individuals and businesses in developing the needed documentation to form new business. This documentation includes such things as a business plan, financial statement and marketing plan. The LEC staff will also leverage partnerships with local law firms in order to prepare the needed formation documents for the Secretary of State and IRS.

Funding Determination/Sources
Once the needed documentation is prepared, the LEC Staff will work with the individual or business to obtain venture capital from a local venture capital provider.
