Catalog Searching Hints

Search the library's holdings (the catalog) using the search box above, or search multiple libraries’ holding through WorldCat.

Both use Library of Congress Subject Headings. These headings are designed to group related subjects together. Using a broad term, "Subject Browse" will produce a list of subheadings and suggested narrower terms.  Typical Bible related headings include:

  • Bible -- Criticism, interpretation, etc.
  • Bible. Matthew.
  • Bible. Matthew. -- Criticism, interpretation, etc.
  • Bible. Matthew. -- Criticism, textual.
  • Bible. Genesis.
