Background:
Dr. Clark teaches in the areas of History, Legal Anthropology, and Native American Economic Development. He is a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and has served the Indian community in several roles throughout his career. In the past, he has offered history courses on Early American history, Native American history, Native American Legal and Spiritual Issues, and Oklahoma and the Southwest. Dr. Clark formerly served as an administrator at Oklahoma City University and is the author of "Lone Wolf v. Hitchcock: Treaty Rights and Indian Law at the End of the Nineteenth Century." He also has published numerous articles in legal journals, history journals, and historical essay collections, including Native Christianity Since 1800, in Raymond Fogelson ed., 14 HANDBOOK OF NORTH AMERICAN INDIANS [SOUTHEAST] (Smithsonian Inst. Press, 2004)
Dr. Clark recently has authored a book detailing the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma. The book, published through the University of Oklahoma Press, is titled Indian Tribes of Oklahoma: A Guide. Click the following link for a podcast interview with Dr. Clark.
