Details: The Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma book discussion series at Oklahoma City University will open its fall 2013 season with “March” by Geraldine Brooks. The discussion is free to the public.
The first discussion session, titled “Imagining War,” will cover “March” and selections from Louisa May Alcott’s “Journal kept at the Hospital, Georgetown, D.C.” that was included in the America’s War anthology.
“March” is a novel about a man who leaves his family behind to help the Union army.
At each session in the series, a humanities scholar makes a presentation on the book in the context of the theme. Small group discussions follow with experienced discussion leaders. At the end, all participants come together for a brief wrap-up.
